This mountain ash looks pretty in black & white photos, but not so much in real life. Apparently it's an invasive species & was definitely partially dead, thus it needed to come down. Branches & peeling bark continuously fell & thousands of small, hard orange berries grew in the summer & pinged the roof in autumn which colored/rotted the ground after dropping. The neighbor was also happy this problematic tree was getting the boot. Thanks Treecology & Vasily for letting me watch & photograph you, enhancing the view & giving us splendid, splendid light. TOTAL COST: $1,396
(The height of non-glory.)
(Looking east & looking rough.)
("It's just like getting dressed in your Sunday best!")
(Branch by branch, down she came.)
(My personal favorite shot of the whole event.)
(A close second.)
(Here's what I learned in film classes! Move when a tree is falling.)
(Beauty is found within. Now just need an ax.)
(I feel like the stump & I would've been friends)
(if Vasily hadn't come to grind it out, roots & all.)
(Oasis-making.)
