Easy, Breezy, Beautiful

Since this summer came early & ready to rumble, plus 3430 has no AC & we use one portable fan (but have lots of windows), we decided a screen door was in order.  We looked online at Home Depot but the reviews were poor & the prices high.  I searched Craigslist four days ago & found a post for a Basic cedar door…fir also $90 that read: I started making old fashioned cedar and fir screen doors from older recovered lumber....we think they look great & we're doing great things for the planet!!!  1-1/8" thick.....hardware not included.  Custom sizes are available. Glad to deliver in the Portland/Vancouver area....thanks for looking.

And the rest is (very recent) history.  Thanks Josh, for making our reclaimed coastal cedar screen door (from a 30-year-old deck at a farm in Washougal, WA) a most welcome addition to the front entrance.  It's the perfect fit: recycled, affordable, long-lasting, simple & gorgeous.  Plus, you were the most pleasant surprise to work with, listen to & learn from.  Now let's build a fence! TOTAL COST: $160

(Josh having me approve before hardware & hanging.  I was speechless.)

(Hey, this guy is a hero.)

(A whole helluva lot warmer welcome yet way cooler!)

  2. The screen door stayed at 3430 until June 2024 where it was re-gifted to a woman in Cully who "had to trim the edges & flip it" only.
